LADOGA - David W. "Todd" Jones, 93, formerly of the Ladoga community, died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday at the Northwest Manor Nursing Home in Indianapolis. He had been in failing health since September of 1968 and was admitted to the nursing home on Oct. 25. Mr. Jones left Ladoga in 1945 for Lafayette where he resided with a daughter, Mrs. Dale Giles. He also resided in the Birdseye community. The deceased was a member of the Congress United Methodist Church in Lafayette. He was born on Dec. 15, 1875, in Shoals. He was married on Aug. 28, 1898, in Dover, Tenn., to Lillie J. Bufford. She preceded him in death on April 10, 1966. Surviving in addition to Mrs. Giles, are a sister, Mrs. Lou George of Poteau, Okla.; two grandsons whom Mr. Jones reared, Prentice Cummings of Brownsburg and Air Force Lt. Col. William Cunnings who is serving in Ethiopia, and 10 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Tuesday at the Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette with Revs. Newton Gottschall and Willard Knowles officiating. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
